About WAW

Building on the success of the previous four editions, WAW, which began in 2017, continues to grow by introducing new talent for its fifth edition.

This year, the spotlight is on paper through a poetic performance where words will intersect with the plastic and sonic qualities of paper, as well as through the opportunity to participate in an introductory bookbinding workshop (more info on our ‘events’ page).

A poetic phrase relating to the colour white will welcome you at each exhibition venue.

The WAW is an artistic stroll from one workshop to another, from one universe to another, from one vibe to another.

Back to basics, why white in ‘WAW’?

This colour was chosen in reference to the artistic concept of the ‘white cube’, the exhibition space par excellence.

White, while not a ‘colour’, is nevertheless the conjunction of all colours.

White as a field of endless possibilities.

And white is, of course, also a wink to the artist’s blank page.

Come and discover around fifty artists spread across more than 20 locations in the municipalities of Rixensart, Genval and Rosières (see map and practical information) and take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet them, understand their motivations and perhaps even acquire a piece that will appeal to you in a special way.
