Maison Rosiéroise
"Leftovers" For the paintings in Maison Rosièroise, I started with collages. They serve as a starting point for creating new associations with shapes, colours, and patterns. The first step is a fascinating game of reassembling parts of the collages and enlarging them significantly. Can I bring structure and meaning by combining image fragments that at first glance appear disparate ? The next question is whether colour, medium/canvas, texture and tactility are sufficient as carriers of meaning?
Can I generate a new dynamic? Are the transpositions intuitive and associative? Is the final result an exercise in deconstruction towards reconstruction?
All that remains is wonder?
Nothing is seems what it is.
