Place of Monik Myle
Through experimental photography, drawings and installations, Monik Myle creates layered and transparent works in which sensual forms come to light. These form part of her personal atlas of experiences and sensory memories.
She subtly refers to Marcel Duchamp's « La mariée mise à nu par ses célibataires, même »: not to continue the concept, but to reverse its dynamics.
While La Mariée is depicted as a desirable woman trapped in a glass cage, Monik Myle frees her from the glass and gives her a life of her own. In this way, she embodies desire itself and evolves into autonomous, free and sensual beings.
