Exploring the everyday

Our immediate environment is full of surprises and poetry.

It's nature that inspires my work: a blade of grass, a shadow, the tracery of the wind, a line on a rock... The eye is attentive to the shapes and colours that make up my everyday life, as well as to the materials: paper that becomes thread (especially the kind used to wrap oranges), confetti (the kind that comes out of the hole punch), sewing thread or metallic thread... My fingers tame them, they let themselves be transformed: I knot, I twist, I weave, I embroider... The materials I use are as fragile as life itself. Some of my works are installations, temporary and adaptable. It's a fragility that I want to convey, a happy fragility.

The work is meticulous and slow. Repetitive too. A time for maturation, concentration and serenity. The time it takes to produce a work is a time of friendship, of questioning, of encouragement, of warning when it's time to go further, to dig deeper, to refine the subject matter.
