Artistic approach

Originally a French-German linguist and translator based in Brussels for three years, and more recently working in natural wine in response to the threatening presence of AI in the language sector, I am also a visual artist. I explore themes of contemplation, pain, wounds, scars and memory. I have been creating art for about ten years and for the past four years I have been painting and drawing exclusively in monochrome blue. My inspiration comes from everyday life. It comes to life in my surroundings, my environment, in my life as a 25-year-old woman and in the landscapes around me, whether urban or rural, rocky or salty. There are many female artists who inspire and support me: Gabriel Rul, Inès Longevial, Charlotte Salomon, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, to name but a few. Literature is a medium that accompanies me day after day, directly or indirectly, in my creative work: from Virginia Woolf to Christian Bobin, via Milan Kundera and Hartmut Rosa. I like to accompany my work with texts, which I write myself or which are quoted from other artistic works. Text provides real support for the visual: it allows the work to resonate more deeply with the viewer.
