Place of Roxane Demal
A ceramicist by trade, I usually create everyday, functional objects. This time, I chose to move beyond utility, to push my work with clay toward other territories. To encounter materials and colors I know so well through a different lens.
A kind of dive into the unknown—an intuitive process rooted in letting go, attentive listening, and play. A play of volumes, glazes, oxides, and movement. When the moment of firing arrives, transformation begins.
Inside the kiln, where everything shifts and mutates, my control ends. The fire takes over. Magic unfolds, poetry emerges. What remains is the work of fire—the transformed piece, revealed.
