Place of Michel Vranckx
Coming from a family where art and history have always played an important role, I grew up in an
environment where beauty, memory, and creaAon were part of everyday life. This sensiAvity, passed
on from an early age, conAnues to shape my way of seeing and expressing the world through art.
My travels, and especially my stays in Morocco, a country close to my heart, have deeply influenced
my work. I draw inspiraAon from its rich materials, warm tones, and the poetry of everyday life.
Nature and animals are at the heart of my arAsAc approach. They embody both the strength and
fragility of life. Their preservaAon is deeply important to me, as is the vital role they play in
maintaining the balance of our planet.
In my arAsAc research, I enjoy confronAng the old and the contemporary, the abstract and the
figuraAve, to create visual dialogues full of tension and harmony.
I mainly work with Indian ink on paper and acrylic paint on wood, materials that allow me to combine
the spontaneity of gesture with the depth of texture.
Contrasts—whether of forms, colors, or symbols are at the heart of my work. They represent for me
the very essence of beauty, made up of balance, opposiAons, and subtle nuances.
Trained in the conservaAon and restoraAon of artworks, I now run the RestART studio in Brussels, and Atelier AAA, creaAve workplace in Ohain, where observaAon, precision, and technical experAse play
a central role. This pracAce strengthens my versaAlity, my inAmate connecAon with materials, and my
aFenAon to detail, qualiAes that I naturally bring into my arAsAc pracAce.
As both a visual arAst and a restorer, I stand at the crossroads between sensiAvity and control,
between intuiAon and discipline.
